When you receive roses, and you would like to keep those memories alive till the last possible minute, then drying
and pressing your roses are the sole way to go. In this article we’ll cover over the
customs of drying your roses, and some easy recommendations on how to
press your roses.
There are 2 general ways in which you can dry your roses. They’re air drying, and sand drying your roses.
We will start out with the air drying. The first thing you’ve got to do when air
drying your roses is to begin with your roses still on the stems. The more flawless the roses the
better it’s going to be when you air dry them. If they aren’t in perfect condition there is the
likelihood that the petals will whither and fall off.
The second step would be to take the leaves off the stem. That is if there are some on the stem because the
majority of the time there would possibly not be.
if you want to dry out more then one rose then there is a way that you can do it. Bunch your
roses up so they seem to be in a fan like position. This may be the way th
at the roses will air dry to seem like.
The very next step that you will do is to tie the base of the rose stems
together with some string or some rubber bands. The last step to air drying the roses you’ll have to hang them. Preferably upside down in a dry but dark place for approximately
three weeks till you know they’re absolutely dried.
The second way to dry out your roses would be to sand dry your roses. You take your roses, but ensure that they
‘re dry, and that they don’t have any dew on them. The dew and the water will affect the sand drying.
you’ll have to reinforce the stem and the blossom by either using florist wire or white clue.
If you are using some florist wire then you may want to cut off the stem about in its
entirety. You will want to leave one inch of the stem on the rose though. You’ll then need to push three inches of the florist wire through the roses stem, and then right
on thru the head of the rose that you are counting on drying.
You now want to bend the leftover florist wire into a hook like shape over the roses, and pull it down.
This will keep the head of your roses attached to the stems of your roses. When you have selected the glue that you w
ant to use you should begin by watering down the chosen glue in a bit of water.
This way it will make it more controllable.
Then you take a toothpick and dab a little bit of the glue onto every one of the petal bases.
Now get out a box. Once you have put your flowers into the box slowly begin to cover the roses with sand. You’ve
got to be really careful with the flowers as you are putting sand onto them because they’d fall
apart. Once you have enough sand in the box to have it filled up with enough so that your roses stay in effect.
You’ll now put the box in a bright lit and it is very hot. You need to now let your
roses dry for around 1 to 3 weeks, or until they look dry enough.Your rose colors will be more muted if
you keep them in a more wet area for drying. If you need to remove the
sand then you tip the box a touch so that the sand falls off the roses. You must then
remove every one of the roses from the box. Now they’re done.
