   Pink or yellow.

   Red suggests romance and white suggests marriage. Pink or yellow seem neutral in that sense.

   Edit:

   According to this, it atcually seems pink, yellow and/or white is most appropriate.

   i don’t know about roses but i recently sent (from calyx and carolla) a beautiful flower called “birds of paradise” for a friend who lost her newborn. it’s an orange flower that looks like a bird with its nose up to the sky.

   I was thinking either white or pink. Both are calmer more subdued colors for such occassions while the red or yellow roses would be too bright for sympathy.

   neutral colors work well because they look nice and it dosent seem faked

   neutral colors like light pink and white off-white will work best

   the ivory colored roses. they are very subdued and thoughtful.

   I think white would be appropriate. White is a pure, untainted color.

   Yellow symbolises friendship so perhaps that is the most appropriate – alternatively, what is her favourite colour? Many people don’t know the ‘real’ meanings behind flower colours, so if you got her something she simply liked it would be just as appropriate (well, anything but red…).
